Pep Guardiola has earmarked Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks as a summer transfer target in a £40m deal, claims The Sun.
Winks was linked with moves to both Manchester clubs last summer and is now back on City's radar.
Guardiola is weighing up his midfield options ahead of next season with David Silva set to depart when his contract expires this month.
The City head coach is also keen on an alternative option to sitting midfielder Rodri and believes Winks fits the bill.
Winks is highly rated but faces an uncertain future under Jose Mourinho, with the Tottenham manager said to be open to his departure.
Tottenham are working from a small budget this summer and Winks' sale would certainly boost Mourinho's transfer kitty.
The 24-year-old is not a typical Mourinho midfielder and his departure, in the region of £40m, would certainly allow the Portuguese to shape the squad in his style.
Winks made 31 Premier League appearances last season and finished the campaign with an impressive pass success rate of 90.3%.
