Manchester United's contract offer to Bellingham less than Dortmund's

Manchester United's contract offer to Jude Bellingham is worth less than what is on the table from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, reveals The Daily Mirror.

Bellingham is one of the most sought after teenagers in European football at the moment with the likes of United, Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all chasing his signature.

All four clubs have reportedly bid in the region of £30M for the Birmingham wonderkid and are now on the charm offensive to land his signature.

Resigned to losing Jadon Sancho in the summer, Dortmund are determined to pull out all the stops, including financially, in order to win the race for the 16-year-old.

Bellingham is still earning scholar wages at Birmingham as he cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 17 in June.

The England Under-17 international can expected a huge wage hike whoever he ends up joining and it has now emerged Dortmund, and not United, have tabled the most lucrative deal.

Dortmund beat United to the signing of Erling Haaland in January and intend to do the same with Bellingham in the summer.

However, United remain in the mix for Bellingham's signature and wooed the teenager during a recent tour of the club's training facilities.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side even brought in former manager Sir Alex Ferguson to meet Bellingham and the Birmingham midfielder was said to be impressed by the club's approach by the time he left with his family.

Due to financial difficulties at the club, Birmingham accept they will not be able to hold on to Bellingham beyond the current campaign.

Bellingham has impressively made 25 starts and seven substitute appearances in his breakout campaign for the Championship strugglers.

The teen has scored four goals and registered two assists in that time and has played right across midfield and even up front.
