Real Madrid agree world record fee for Mbappe

Real Madrid believe they will sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco for a world record £120m after agreeing terms with both player and club, reports the Sun.

The teenage sensation is the most sought after young attacker on the continent after a stunning campaign for Monaco as they secured Ligue 1 glory.

Premier League pair Arsenal and Liverpool were linked with a move for the 18-year-old, while Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain were also credited with an interest in the Monaco star.

However, the player has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid and after the departures of James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata for Bayern Munich and Chelsea, respectively, the La Liga side have the funds needed to secure a move for Mbappe.

The France international was directly involved in more goals (23 - 15 goals, 8 assists) than any other teenager in Europe’s top five leagues last season, with his fine form in Ligue 1 and the Champions League attracting significant interest across Europe.

Monaco have previously rejected all interest in Mbappe, but know that a £120m offer is too hard to turn down.
