Prospective Newcastle owners want Cavani and Pochettino
Edinson Cavani, Mauricio Pochettino and Max Allegri are some of the names being considered by Newcastle's prospective new owners, claims ESPN.
The Magpies are on the brink of a £300m takeover by Saudi Arabian-based consortium, PCP Capital Partners.
With vast financial resources behind them, Newcastle supporters are already speculating at some of the changes they hope to see.
It is now claimed the Saudi-backers already have their eye on a world-class manager and Cavani to lead the line for next sesaon.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker will be a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign and Newcastle will be in the mix if this takeover goes through.
Cavani has dropped completely out of favour under Thomas Tuchel this season and limited to just seven league starts.
Manager Steve Bruce is also starting to fear for his job, concerned they will want to make a statement of intent with a big name manager and now Pochettino and Allegri are already being lined up.
Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked as Tottenham manager in November, while Allegri has not taken a job since stepping down as Juventus head coach at the end of last season.
It is not a foregone conclusion either manager will take the Newcastle hot seat and it will take a hugely enticing propsoal by the club's prospective owners to get them on board.
