West Brom to bid £4m for Leeds defender

West Bromwich Albion will rekindle their interest in Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor and bid £4m in January, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Taylor, 23, was linked with a move away from the Championship side in the summer before Leeds owner Massimo Cellino his exit.

The left-back’s existing deal is due to expire at the end of the season and has already rejected Leeds’ attempts to secure his long-term future.

West Brom are determined to sign an out-and-out left-back and hope to take advantage of the situation at Elland Road to secure a cut-price deal for Taylor when the transfer window reopens in January.

In the last three Championship campaigns Taylor has won possession in the defensive third at least 80 times more than any other Leeds player (314).
