Premier League giants eyeing up Ivorian

Manchester City will rival Manchester United in the race to sign PSG defender Serge Aurier, reports the Daily Star on Sunday.

United have this week been strongly linked with a move for the Ivorian after scouts watched him in action for the Ivory Coast against France in midweek.

However, City also had scouts in attendance in the stalemate with the Premier League title favourites running the rule over the right-back.

Aurier has his disciplinary issues, though, having previously been reprimanded for making negative comments about former PSG head coach Laurent Blanc and is appealing a two-month prison sentence for elbowing a police officer.

That, though, is unlikely to deter City and United and they will be interested to hear that the Ligue 1 champions would be willing to cash in on the 23-year-old and would settle for offers of £20m.

Injury problems have plagued Aurier this season, which has seen him make just seven league starts, but City and United remain interested in the defender as both teams look to improve the right side of their defence.
