West Ham and Crystal Palace are weighing up a January move for Newcastle United striker Alexsandar Mitrovic, reports the Daily Star on Sunday.
Mitrovic has been directly involved in five league goals for the Magpies this season, but is unable to command a regular starting spot having made just four Championship starts.
West Ham and Palace are both looking to bolster their respective attacks in the New Year and are monitoring the 22-year-old’s situation with a view to a possible move next month.
Liverpool man Daniel Sturridge remains West Ham’s top target, but Jurgen Klopp is adamant the England international won’t be leaving Anfield in January.
The Hammers are now pondering a £14.5m move for Mitrovic, which could convince Newcastle into selling, despite Rafa Benitez’s eagerness to retain the services of the feisty frontman.
Palace boss Alan Pardew is also keen to bolster his frontline having lost Connor Wickham for the remainder of the season after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and with Loic Remy still short of fitness, the Eagles are short of offensive options beyond Christian Benteke.
