Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrović has arrived at Newcastle United for his medical ahead of a £13m move, according to Sky Sports.
Steve McClaren's side are hoping to complete the deal for the 20-year-old, bringing an end to what has been a long drawn out transfer.
The move is not suggested to impact Newcastle's interest in QPR striker Charlie Austin, nor is it set to deter their ambitions to sign Mitrović's Anderlecht teammate Chancel Mbema.
As for Mitrović, no player scored more goals in the regular season of the Belgian top-flight last term (14) and only two players contributed more goals to their side’s total output than the Serbia international (26%).
