Manchester United plot sensational £200m January spending spree
Manchester United are plotting deals to sign Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland in January worth a combined £200m, claims The Daily Mirror.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bolster his offensive options as soon as possible but will not compromise on his first-choice targets.
Solskjaer wanted to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund last summer but was forced to shelve United's interest until the end of the current campaign.
However, it has now emerged United are willing to test Dortmund's resolve in January following a challenging few weeks for the England international.
It was thought Sancho would push to leave Dortmund next summer after completing three years in Germany but United believe they could sign the 19-year-old earlier.
Sancho was suspended by Dortmund in October for one match after returning back late from international duty and is no longer considered a guaranteed starter.
Nevertheless, Sancho has registered more assists than any other player in Europe's top five leagues since the beginning of last season (19) and is valued in excess of £100m.
United are also leading the chase for Salzburg sensation Haaland, who has caught the eye of all of Europe's top clubs with his goalscoring displays in the Champions League this season.
The 19-year-old, son of former Manchester City defender Alf-Inge, is the top scorer in the Champions League this term (7) and United are reportedly even willing to loan the teen back to Salzburg for the remainder of the campaign if they can get a deal done in January.
United failed to sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku in the summer and Sokskjaer has since confirmed a new striker is a priority for the club.
