Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed he rejected offers from Manchester City and Arsenal earlier in his career.
The former Sweden international has made a flying start to the season since joining Manchester United on a free from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Premier League fans have long been hoping of seeing Ibrahimovic grace English shores and the 34-year-old has revealed it could have happened a lot earlier than this season.
“I was close to moving to the Premier League twice,” Marca quotes Ibrahimovic as saying. “I had offers from Arsenal and then Manchester City. But it never happened. I never needed to play in the Premier League.”
Only Alexandre Lacazette (6) and Andrea Belotti (4) have scored more goals in Europe’s big five leagues this season than Ibrahimovic (3).
