Man Utd eye January move for Bundesliga goal machine

Manchester United are weighing up a move for VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy next month, reports the Guardian.

United are looking into the possibility of bringing in an experienced frontman in the New Year to ease the burden on summer signing Rasmus Hojlund.

Guirassy has been superb for Bundesliga side Stuttgart this season, with his return of 15 league goals bettered only by Bayern hitman Harry Kane.

The 27-year-old also has a lowly release clause of just £15.1m, which appeals to United as they seek to rectify their Premier League goal woes.

United have hit the back of the net just 16 times in England's top tier this term, that level with Nottingham Forest, while Hojlund has failed to score in the Premier League following his arrival from Atalanta.

However, United would face competition from Newcastle for Guirassy with Eddie Howe reportedly keen on strengthening the Magpies frontline next month.

Guirassy, 27, hasn't started a league match for Stuttgart since coming off after half an hour due to injury in their 3-0 win over Union Berlin back in October.
