Zaha reaffirms desire to leave Crystal Palace for Champions League football

Wilfried Zaha has told Crystal Palace he wants to leave the club this summer and join one that can offer Champions League football, claims The Daily Mail.

The Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with a move away from Palace for the last few years but the Eagles have managed to ward off suitors with a huge price tag.

Zaha signed a five-year deal at the start of the season to become the best-paid player in Palace’s history but now wants to move on.

Zaha met with Palace chairman Steve Parish following the conclusion of the Premier League season and told him that he wants Champions League football.

Palace accept that the 26-year-old has outgrown the club but will not roll over and let their star asset leave on the cheap.

Roy Hodgson’s side will entertain offers from Champions League clubs this summer but only if they are in the region of £80m.

Zaha is concerned that Palace’s demands will price him out of a summer move but remains hopeful of a solution that will please all concerned.

The Palace forward finished the campaign with 10 goals in a Premier League season for the first time in his career, one more than he managed last term.

Zaha also registered five assists and won the WhoScored Man of the Match award on six occasions, while only Eden Hazard (137) completed more dribbles than the Ivorian (114).
