Liverpool eye shock move for Arsenal ace

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in the summer, claims The Sun.

Wilshere’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season but Arsenal have finally opened up contract talks with the England international.

The 26-year-old has proved he is over his fitness concerns and deserves a new Arsenal deal but may have to accept a pay cut in order to extend his stay at the Emirates.

It remains to be seen whether Wilshere is willing to accept a pay cut and Liverpool are waiting in the wings as Klopp eyes his second raid in less than 12 months.

Liverpool signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a £40m deal in the summer and now Klopp is even willing to match Wilshere’s current wage in order to bolster his midfield options.

Wilshere has started eight of Arsenal’s last 10 Premier League matches and managed a goal and an assist in that period.

However, Arsenal actually have a far superior win ratio in the Premier League when Wilshere has not started (55.6%) compared to when he has featured from the off (37.5%).
