Arsenal confirm Coquelin injury news

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Francis Coquelin will be out for at least two months with a knee injury.

Coquelin was forced off during their 2-1 defeat to West Brom at the weekend and was pictured leaving the Hawthorns on crutches.

The French midfielder has been in tremendous form since breaking into the first-team last season, but will miss the next two months after scans revealed damage to his knee ligaments.

The 24-year-old’s partnership with Santi Cazorla shielding the back four has been crucial to Arsenal’s success over the last 12 months and his absence will be a real blow to their title ambitions.
