Roma to hand Nainggolan a new deal

Roma will hand Radja Nainggolan a new deal after selling Miralem Pjanic to Juventus, reports Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia.

Nainggolan, 28, has been earmarked as a number one transfer target for incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte but he may have to look elsewhere for a new central midfielder.

Juventus signed Pjanic on Sunday after activating his €32m (£25.3m) release clause and Roma are desperate not to lose another key midfielder this summer.

As a result, Roma have already made contact with Nainggolan’s representatives about a renewal despite still having four years left on his existing deal.

Since August 2013 only two players have won possession in the midfield third more times than Nainggolan (417).
