Bayern Munich have confirmed the arrival of Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan deal.
The Bundesliga giants have agreed an €8.5m (£7.8m) loan fee for Coutinho with an option to buy for a further €120m (£110m).
Coutinho was deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona just 18 months after joining from Liverpool in a deal worth £142m.
Barcelona have been actively looking to offload Coutinho this summer in a bid to accommodate Neymar’s return from Paris Saint-Germain.
Coutinho, who take the No.10 shirt at Bayern, will fill the void left by James Rodriguez.
The Colombia international spent the last two years at Bayern but the Bundesliga champions opted against making his move permanent this summer.
Coutinho was left out of Barcelona’s squad for their first league game of the season and played a direct hand in 20 goals in 42 league appearances for the club.
