Manchester City’s €50m bid for Monaco defender rejected
Monaco have turned down Manchester City’s €50m (£44.5m) bid for Benjamin Mendy, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The Ligue 1 giants are willing to let Mendy leave the club this summer but are demanding the same price City paid for Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker last week.
Pep Guardiola’s side made Walker the most expensive defender of all-time in a £54m deal and will now need to pay the same amount to land the France international.

The 23-year-old established himself as one of the best full-backs in Europe for Monaco last season and Chelsea have reportedly also made an enquiry to be kept in the loop after talks slowed for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
Mendy has made more accurate crosses from open play (116) than any other Ligue 1 player since August 2014.
