Tottenham agree fee for Arsenal striker target

Tottenham have agreed a fee with Inter for Arsenal target and Argentina international Lautaro Martinez, according to the Sunday Times.

The Gunners have been monitoring the Argentine striker with a view to a move this summer, but it appears they have now dropped behind Spurs in the race for the frontman.

A bid in excess of £60m is believed to have been accepted by the Serie A champions, who have already sold Achraf Hakimi to PSG and are in the process of selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

It's reported that Spurs are signing Martinez to play alongside Harry Kane, rather than as a replacement for the England international, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this summer.

The 23-year-old scored 17 goals and provided an additional five assists in Serie A last season as he played a key role in Inter's title success.

Martinez was also pivotal in Argentina's Copa America success, netting three times at the competition.

Spurs have already secured the services of Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil and Cristian Romero this summer.
