Manchester United handed boost in race for Fiorentina sensation
Manchester United have been handed a boost in their quest to sign Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina after club president Rocco Commisso revealed he is prepared to sanction a summer exit.
The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the finest young talents on the continent and United have since been credited with an interest in Chiesa.
However, the Premier League side wouldn't have a straight shot at the Italy international, with Serie A champions Juventus and Parisian powerhouse PSG also interested in the Fiorentina star.
And if all parties can come to an agreement, then Commisso has confirmed that Chiesa could leave the Viola this summer.
"I promised that if the right offer arrives and he wants to leave we will agree," Commisso is quoted as saying by Sky Italia.
"However, I think that the situation in Florence has changed in the eyes of Federico and beyond and I hope that they can all play together to make a better championship."
Chiesa has scored six goals and registered three assists for Fiorentina this season, though they remain mired in the bottom half of the table.
