Tottenham ready to end interest in £70m-rated Zaha

Tottenham are ready to end their pursuit in former Manchester United forward Wilfried Zaha after Crystal Palace demand £70m, claims The Daily Mail.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been heavily linked with a move for Zaha for the last few years and have rekindled their interest this summer.

The Ivory Coast international enjoyed a standout campaign for Palace last season and Roy Hodgson’s side are determined to keep hold of their star man.

Palace are reportedly planning a bumper new contract in order to retain Zaha’s long-term services, while pricing their rivals out of a deal at the same time.

Pochettino has been assured money will be available to spend this summer in order to bolster his squad, but Tottenham are not willing to match Palace’s demands.

The 25-year-old was integral to Palace avoiding relegation last season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 29 appearances in the Premier League.

In fact, Palace lost all 10 matches Zaha failed to start in the league last term, while only Eden Hazard (165) completed more dribbles than the Ivorian (119).
