City star open to Premier League stay

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has no intentions of leaving the Premier League if incoming manager Pep Guardiola deems him surplus to requirements in the summer, reports The Guardian.

Toure, 32, is widely expected to be moved on by Guardiola when he replaces Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season, just as his Barcelona career was cut short by the Spaniard in 2010.

The Ivorian midfielder, who will go down as one of the best midfielders to play in the Premier League, still has one year remaining on his current deal at the Etihad but it remains to be seen if he will be allowed to see out that remaining year by Guardiola.

However, Toure has placed City’s Premier League rivals on red alert with reports suggesting he wants to prolong his career in England, whether at City or not.

Of players to have attempted at least 150 dribbles since the August 2010, only three players boost a greater success rate than Toure (69.9%).
