Real Madrid midfielder hints at summer exit

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has revealed he could leave the club at the end of the season in search of regular playing time.

Isco has been heavily linked with a move away from the reigning European champions in each of the last two transfer windows after failing to establish himself as a regular under Zinedine Zidane.

The 24-year-old will only have 12 months to run on his existing deal in the summer and a decision will need to be made by both the club and the player about his future.

“I’m calm. What worries me is to have minutes,” Isco told beIN Sports. “A player’s career is small. I’m happy here and would stay many more years. From now until the end of the season, we will make a decision. It is my future at stake.”

Isco has spent the four years with Madrid after joining from Malaga in 2013 but has never been one of the first names on the team sheets after always falling short in competition with a number of world class players in the positions he can occupy.

Despite being called upon from the bench more than most, no Madrid player has created more chances than Isco in La Liga since his arrival (191).
