Manchester United target to make decision in January

 

Manchester United target Leon Goretzka has revealed he will make a decision on his Schalke future next month.

 

The Germany international’s current Schalke deal at the end of the season and has a host of Europe’s biggest clubs queuing for his signature.

 

Goretzka has already denied agreeing terms with Bayern Munich and has now revealed a decision will be made in January, when he will be free to agree terms with foreign clubs.

 

“I have to find out for myself what the next steps should be,” The London Evening Standard quote Goretzka as saying at the weekend.

 

“I have to consider a million things. I am a person who is very meticulous in such decisions. I play through all the scenarios. So I need time.

 

“There doesn’t exist a deadline, but I think we are in the final phase. The final decision will be made in January.”

Schalke are determined to keep Goretzka and are even willing to make the 22-year-old the best-paid player in the club’s history to convince him to stay.

 

However, that may not be enough to convince Goretzka with the likes of United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal all pushing for his signature.

 

The Schalke No.8 has scored four goals in seven Bundesliga starts this season, also finishing the WhoScored Man of the Match on three occasions in that run.
