Manchester United defender could join Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester United may be forced to let Marcos Rojo join Paris Saint-Germain in a £30m deal in the summer, claims The Sun.

Jose Mourinho’s side have been working on a new deal for Rojo but talks have stalled and now there are fears the Argentina international will seek a new challenge at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old’s existing contract is due to expire at the end of next season and PSG are reportedly interested in prising the defender away from Old Trafford this summer.

Failure to convince Rojo to sign a new deal before the end of the season could force United into selling rather than letting him leave for nothing in the 2019.

Rojo has divided opinion among United fans since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 but his performances have vastly improved under Mourinho compared to the form he showed during Louis van Gaal’s tenure.

The Argentine centre-back has only made 10 appearances in all competitions for United this season after recovering from a serious knee injury at the end of November.

United have only lost one of the 24 Premier League matches Rojo has started under Mourinho compared to a loss rate of 22% when he hasn’t featured from the off.
