AC Milan warns Juventus to meet their demands for defensive target
AC Milan sporting director Massimilliano Mirabelli has revealed Mattia De Sciglio has told the club he wants to leave but warned Juventus they will have to meet the club’s demands to land one of their defensive targets.
Juventus have been regularly linked with a move for De Sciglio in the past and may now be forced to step up their interest in the Italy international with Alex Sandro heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
The Serie A champions are already in the market for a right-back after reluctantly allowing Dani Alves to leave this summer but Juventus have been told not to expect an easy ride in any pursuit of De Sciglio despite the fact he has entered the final 12 months of his current deal.
“De Sciglio? We’ve talked to his agent Branchini several times, and he told us that for a number of reasons, he’s decided that he wants a change of scenery, and he’s wanted it for some time now,” Mirabelli is quoted as saying at a press conference by Football Italia.
“Juve didn’t call us. If they do then they’ll have to meet our demands. Otherwise, he’ll stay with us until his contract expires.”
Since August 2012 only Ignazio Abate (284) and Riccardo Montolivo (275) have made more tackles for Milan in Serie A than De Sciglio (237).
