Manchester United expect Real Madrid to launch another move for David de Gea this summer, reports The Guardian.
De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid ever since his proposed transfer to the European Champions collapsed in 2015.
The Spain international emerged as a key target for Madrid towards the end of last season but Zinedine Zidane’s side made it clear they were happy with Keylor Navas after beating Juventus in the Champions League final last month.
Tensions have been bubbling between the two giants for some time and it looks to have escalated in the wake of United’s decision to pull the plug on a deal to sign striker Alvaro Morata.
Both sides are also now battling for supremacy in Los Angeles during their respective pre-season camps and Jose Mourinho’s side expect Madrid to return with a fresh bid for De Gea.
United have no interest in selling De Gea and believe they are in a better position than 2015 as the 26-year-old is not pushing for a move away from Old Trafford this summer.
In the last four Premier League campaigns De Gea has kept the most clean sheets (51) and is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
