PSG to force way into race for Liverpool target

French champions PSG are considering a move for Bayern midfielder and Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara, according to French publication Le10 Sport.

The Spaniard is believed to be a priority target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as he looks to build upon the Reds' title success and bolster his midfield.

Indeed, Thiago has been heavily linked with a summer move to Anfield as he seeks a new challenge away from Germany.

However, Liverpool may now face competition from PSG in the race to land Thiago, with Thomas Tuchel well aware of the 29-year-old's ability.

The Ligue 1 powerhouse, who recently secured Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue glory at the expense of Saint-Etienne and Lyon, respectively, are prepared to match Bayern's asking price for Thiago.

Tuchel has ample midfield options to call upon already, but would jump at the chance to sign a midfieler of Thiago's ilk to improve his side's chances of landing the Champions League.
