Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all interested in Milan keeper
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all keen on luring Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to the Premier League at the end of the season, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The teenage shotstopping sensation has established himself as one of the finest young talents in the game, with his WhoScored rating (7.17) bettered only by Jordan Pickford (7.18) of all goalkeepers in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
Milan are understandably keen to retain the 18-year-old’s services, but are aware interest in Donnarumma will be high in the summer given his exceptional form for the Serie A giants.
United and Chelsea have seen their number one goalkeepers - David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois, respectively - linked with a summer switch to Real Madrid and they would pursue Donnarumma should the duo leave for Spain.
City, meanwhile, are looking to strengthen at the back, with Claudio Bravo flattering to deceive following his switch from Barcelona and Willy Caballero out of contract at the end of the season. On loan goalkeeper Joe Hart also has no long-term future at the Etihad Stadium and is expected to leave permanently once the transfer window re-opens.
The trio would have to part ways with upwards of £50m to secure Donnarumma’s services in the summer, though that is unlikely to deter United, City and Chelsea.
