Real Madrid turn down Juventus’ bid for new right-back
Real Madrid have rejected Juventus’ opening bid for Danilo as the Serie A champions look to find a replacement for Dani Alves, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
Max Allegri’s side need to sign a new full-back after confirming on Thursday they had reluctantly agreed to terminate Alves’ contract ahead of a move to Manchester City.
Juventus have earmarked Danilo as the ideal replacement for his Brazilian compatriot but have had an initial €15m (£13.2m) rebuffed by the European champions.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are willing to sell Danilo just two years after signing the 25-year-old in a €31.5m deal from Porto but they are looking to recoup as much as €30m for his services.
Danilo has failed to make any positive impact in Madrid and is behind Dani Carvajal in the pecking order for places at right-back. He only started 17 league matches last season, but only Casemiro (4) averaged more tackles per game than Danilo (3) of all Madrid players.
