Tottenham and Leicester in for Iceland hero

Tottenham and Leicester have expressed an interest in signing FC Krasnodar and Iceland defender Ragnar Sigurdsson, according to The Guardian.

Sigurdsson, 30, has been a pillar of Iceland’s success in Euro 2016 and was on the scoresheet for just the second time in 60 caps when Iceland pulled of a shock 2-1 win over England in the last 16 on Monday.

The Krasnodar centre back still has two years remaining on his current deal with the Russian Premier League side but is hoping to make a move to one of Europe’s top leagues this summer.

Schalke and Wolfsburg are also tracking his progress in France but Sigurdsson’s preference is to move to the Premier League, with Spurs and Leicester leading the chase for his signature.
