De Bruyne set for City medical

Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is travelling to have his medical with Manchester City ahead of completing a club-record £57m move to the Premier League side, according to BBC Sport.

De Bruyne's impending move to City has been a saga that has rumbled on all summer, but finally looks set to near its conclusion with the 24-year-old on his way to the Etihad to complete the final stages of the mammoth transfer.

This will mark the second time Manuel Pellegrini has smashed the club’s transfer record this summer following the £49 City paid Liverpool for Raheem Sterling.

The interest in the Belgium international comes as no surprise following a breathtaking debut campaign with Wolfsburg that saw De Bruyne record the most assists (20) than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues last season.
