Chelsea have made an enquiry to Athletic Club for full-back Oscar de Marcos, according to El Desmarque, via TalkSPORT.
De Marcos, 27, still has three years to run on his existing deal with the Basque side but Chelsea are interested in bringing the Spaniard to the Premier League as part of their January squad revamp.
Athletic Club will reportedly command a fee in the region of £30m, which may deter Chelsea as they line up a world record £60m bid for Leonardo Bonucci.
In the last three La Liga seasons only two players have completed more cross from open play than De Marcos (64).
