Crystal Palace win race for QPR sensation Eze

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Queens Park Rangers attacker Eberechi Eze in a deal worth up to £19.5m.

Eze has been heavily linked with a raft of Premier League sides this summer after his sparkling form for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship last season.

QPR have reluctantly been forced to cash in on the 22-year-old after missing out on promotion to the Premier League and have agreed an initial £16m fee with Palace.

Tottenham had been linked with a move for the versatile attacker but Palace have now secured his services on an five-year deal running until the summer of 2025.

Eze spent most of last season playing on the left wing but is also capable of playing centrally and his arrival only raises fresh doubts over Wilfried Zaha's future at Selhurst Park.

Palace fans will hope to see Eze line up alongside Zaha in the Premier League next season but it is likely he will act as a replacement.

Zaha is desperate to leave Palace for bigger and better things and even had a transfer request rejected 12 months ago.

Eze finished the 2019/20 Championship campaign as the third highest WhoScored rated player (7.36) and one of only three players to win the WhoScored Man of the Match award 10 times.

Palace's new signing played a direct hand in 22 goals in 46 games (14 goals, eight assists) and completed the most dribbles in the division (136).
