Arsenal boss desperate to sign Zaha

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has asked the board to do everything possible to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha this summer, claims The Sun.

The Gunners reportedly have a budget of just £45m this summer after finishing outside of the Champions League positions last season.

Nearly half of that money could be spent on Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney and Emery wants extra funds to be made available to sign Zaha.

The 26-year-old, who is currently away on Arica Cup of Nations duty with Ivory Coast, wants to leave Palace to play European football.

Zaha has been heavily linked with a move away from Palace in recent years but an £80m asking price has warded off any potential suitors.

Palace are under no pressure to sell Zaha, as the 26-year-old still has four years left to run on his existing deal.

Roy Hodgson’s side could end up recouping well in excess of £100m in player sales this summer if both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Zaha leave to Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively.

Arsenal will not be about to afford Zaha on their current budget but Emery hasn't give up hope on the former United winger.

Zaha finished last season with 10 league goals in a Premier League campaign for the first time in his career.

Furthermore, only Eden Hazard (303) has completed more dribbles than Zaha (232) in the last two Premier League campaigns.
