Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will move to sign Atletico Madrid ace Jan Oblak at the end of the season in a bid to solve their goalkeeping issue, reports Goal.com, via Football Espana.
Oblak, who has been sidelined since December with a dislocated shoulder and not expected back until February, is widely regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in Europe.
Guardiola is expected to address the goalkeeping position at the end of the season following Claudio Bravo’s horrific debut campaign at the club, with a number of goalkeepers reportedly being lined up by the Premier League outfit.
Atletico have no intention of selling the 24-year-old and City will likely have to match Oblak’s stunning €100m (£86.5m) release clause, which would seem unlikely.
In the last three Champions League campaigns Oblak has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper (13).
