Crystal Palace enter race for Liverpool outcast

Crystal Palace are the latest team to enter the running to sign Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho, reports The Daily Mail.

Sakho, 26, has been cast aside by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp since the end of last season and free to leave the club after falling out of favour under the German.

Klopp called the 26-year-old’s attitude into question last season after he failed a drugs test and Sakho has not been considered since, with a long line of Premier League clubs interested in his signature.

Wages have proved a stumbling block for suitors so far, with Palace now the latest side to try their arm in bringing the former France international to Selhurst Park.

Sakho will be short of match fitness for whatever side he faces having last played a competitive match in April 2016, when he scored in a 4-0 win over Everton.
