Real Madrid consider summer move for Wolves marksman

Real Madrid are weighing up a move for Wolves star striker Raul Jimenez, with Zinedine Zidane believed to be keen on the Mexican forward, according to Don Balon via AS.

Jimenez has been a standout star for Wolves in the Premier League this season, with his WhoScored rating (7.29) enough to make the best XI from England's top tier.

Real Madrid signed Luka Jovic last summer, but the Serb has struggled for game time and consistency on the back of his big money arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Zidane is eager to see Jovic go out on loan to garner more playing time, while Mariano, despite netting in the Clasico 2-0 win over Barcelona, has no long-term role in the squad.

Should a switch come to fruition, it would see Jimenez return to Madrid, where he spent a solitary, unsuccessful season with Los Blancos' city rivals Atletico.

Wolves would be reluctant to lose Jimenez, with the Mexico international thriving for the Midlands side.

Indeed, Jimenez has scored 26 league goals and provided 13 assists following his arrival from Benfica in 2018.
