Lyon have announced the arrival of Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen in a deal worth as much as €30m (£27m).
The French outfit have agreed an initial €25m fee with Lyon plus €5m in add-ons and Andersen will sign a long-term deal with the club.
Andersen was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer after being earmarked as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld.
However, the Denmark international has instead signed for Lyon, who have wasted no time spending the money made Tanguy Ndombele and Ferland Mendy’s big money departures.
Tottenham broke their transfer record to sign Ndombele in a transfer worth as much as €72m, while Ferland Mendy moved to Real Madrid for €50m.

Lyon have now spent more than €50m on the likes of Andersen, Youssouf Kone and Thiago Mendes to improve their squad for next season.
Andersen made more accurate passes (1802) than any other player aged 23 and under in Serie A last season.
