Paul Clement is expected to be named new Swansea City manager on Tuesday, reports the Daily Mail.
The Swans currently languish at the foot of the table following a dismal run of form, with a 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth worsening their predicament.
Clement will be the club’s third manager in what has been a tumultuous season after Francesco Guidolin and Bob Bradley were both relieved of their duties earlier in the campaign.
The 44-year-old is set to pen a two-and-a-half year deal at the Liberty Stadium, though he won’t be in the dugout for Tuesday’s meeting with Crystal Palace.
Clement has worked largely as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and briefly as a manager during his time in charge at Derby County.
Swansea had prioritised Chris Coleman as their new manager, but were frustrated in their attempts to lure the Wales manager to the club after being told he wasn’t interested in the job via his wife’s Twitter account, which saw Clement emerge as favourite for the role.
