Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is keen on a move to Liverpool as he looks to force a move away from Napoli this summer, reports The Mirror.
Liverpool's failure to qualify for Europe suggested the Reds could struggle to attract big money signings to Anfield this summer, but Higuain's supposed interest in a move to Merseyside will come as a huge boost.
The 28-year-old netted an astonishing 36 league goals in Serie A this season, more than any other player, with a number of top teams across the continent keeping tabs on the prolific hitman.
Higuain is eager to ply his trade in the Premier League and is looking to work under manager Jurgen Klopp, which works in the Reds' favour.
Klopp is looking to revamp his attack line this summer, with Christian Benteke expected to be told he can leave the club, while Daniel Sturridge's future at Anfield remains in doubt, despite impressive end of season form.
Higuain has two years left to run on his Napoli contract and the Italian side will want to recoup most of the £34.5m they paid Real Madrid to secure his services back in 2013.
