Versatile Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko has been earmarked as a potential transfer target for Manchester United this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.
Jose Mourinho wants to bolster both full-back positions before the start of next season and is already closing in on Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
United also want to sign a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia but have cooled their interest in Arsenal ace Hector Belelrin.
The Red Devils are now plotting a £35m move for Vrsaljko, who has endured a turbulent time at Atletico since joining from Sassuolo two years ago.
Vrsaljko, who can also play at left-back, has failed to find regular playing time under Diego Simeone and really struggled during his first season at the club.
The Croatia international’s performances improved notably this season and he even managed to usurp Juanfran in the pecking order for a while, starting last week’s Europa League final.
Despite only starting 19 league games for Atletico this season, Vrsaljko still managed four assists for Simeone’s side - only Antoine Griezmann managed more (9) for the club.
