Portuguese star on City’s radar

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Sporting star Gelson Martins, reports the Daily Express.

The 21-year-old win wizard has established himself as a key player for the Liga NOS side and his performances for the Portuguese outfit have not gone unnoticed.

A host of Europe’s elite teams are thought to be keeping tabs on Gelson Martins, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich keen on the youngster.

The right winger has been offered a lucrative deal to remain in Lisbon, but has eyed up a move to one of the bigger clubs on the continent.

He impressed against Real Madrid, who have also been credited with an interest, but Manchester City are hoping to lure him to England.
