Manchester City are on the verge of announcing Kevin De Bruyne has signed a new six-year deal through to 2023, claims The Daily Telegraph.
De Bruyne’s current deal isn’t due to expire until 2021 but City want to secure his long-term future before the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona start to circle.
The Belgium international has easily been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and City are poised to increase his current £120,000-a-week salary to in excess of £200,000-a-week under the terms in his proposed new deal.
Pep Guardiola’s side have made dishing out new contracts to the likes of De Bruyne, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus priorities this season having already convinced David Silva to sign a contract extension last month.
City are on course to wrap up the Premier League title in record time this season and are now plotting their way to global domination by also handing Guardiola a stunning new deal to extend his stay beyond the end of next season.
De Bruyne is currently the highest WhoScored rating player in the Premier League (8.06) after playing a direct hand in 14 goals in 18 appearances (six goals, eight assists). In fact, no player has won the WhoScored Man of the Match award in the Premier League this season more times than the 26-year-old (5).
The Belgian’s Football INDEX share price has gradually dropped from around £4.00 a share to below £3.80 over the last three weeks but it’s time to invest in De Bruyne once again. News of a fresh deal will only make him eligible for media dividends in the coming days, while he showed against Tottenham on Saturday that he looks back to his very best.
