Manchester United team news: Lukaku axed for meeting with former club Everton
According to Manchester Evening News a leaked lineup has emerged from Manchester United that suggests Romelu Lukaku will be dropped for the visit of Everton.
The former Toffees striker has gone eight games without a goal for the club and the reports suggest that the goal drought has cost the Belgium international his place in the starting XI.
The apparent team sheet would see two changes from the defeat to Juventus in midweek, with club captain Antonio Valencia returning to take the armband from Ashley Young, who will also drop to the bench.
Summer signing Fred is the man tipped to replace Lukaku in a move that would suggest a change in formation, with Juan Mata potentially starting in behind a front two of Anthony Martial and Marcus Ashford.
The incoming Brazilian would form part of a three man midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, while Chris Smalling and Viktor Lindelof remain the favoured centre-back pairing ahead of the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones.
Everton, meanwhile, have a clean bill of health for the first time this season, meaning Yerry Mina - a rumoured target of Manchester United in the summer - could come into contention for the first time since a move from Barcelona.
