Swansea announce first signing of the summer

Swansea have announced they have made Heerenveen goalkeeper Erwin Mulder their first signing of the summer.

Mulder, 28, has spent the last two years as Heerenveen’s No.1 man between the sticks after joining from rivals Feyenoord in 2015.

Swansea have signed Mulder on a free transfer after he turned down a new contract with the Dutch side to make the move to the Premier League.

Paul Clement has brought the Dutchman in to provide competition with current goalkeepers Lukasz Fabianski and Kristoffer Nordfeldt and the shot-stopper has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Swansea.

Of goalkeepers that started more than 15 matches in the Eredivisie last season, only PSV ace Jeroen Zoet (52.6%) had a better long ball pass accuracy than Mulder (46.6%).
