Arsenal midfielder in ‘no hurry’ on new contract

Mesut Ozil admits he is not bothered about his future at Arsenal and is in no hurry to sign a new deal with the Gunners.

The Germany international’s current deal expires in 2018 and Arsenal are keen to wrap up his long-term future to avoid being entangled in a stand-off situation where they may be forced to sell one of their best players.

Ozil, 27, has been linked with a move away in recent times and he isn’t looking to pen a contract extension at the Emirates any time soon.

“I have two year left on my contract. There’s no hurry. We will see how it goes at the end of the season,” Ozil told Sport-Informations-Dienst, via Goal.com.

Despite only registering two assists in the league in 2016, Ozil has still registered three more assists than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season (18).
