Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have confirmed the arrival of former Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry.
The Germany international played a vital role for Bundesliga side Werder Bremen last season, scoring 11 goals as they ended the campaign in eighth following a disastrous start.
“FC Bayern München have agreed the transfer of Serge Gnabry with Werder Bremen. Gnabry, 21, will sign a three-year contract at FC Bayern,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“Gnabry scored 11 goals for Werder last season and was the top scorer at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil as he helped Germany to win the silver medal.”
On the deal, Bayern chairman Karl-Heniz Rummenigge said: “We’re pleased that in Serge Gnabry another young German international is coming to FC Bayern. Serge has developed a lot at Bremen.”
Gnabry went on to add: “It’s a great honour to become part of FC Bayern. It’s going to be an exciting time and one that I’m very much looking forward to.”
Of the 11 Bundesliga goals Gnabry scored last season, 10 of those were netted away from home, the fourth best return in the league.
