Manchester City contemplate €12m deal for PSV ace

Manchester City are in talks to re-sign PSV Eindhoven left-back Angelino, claims Goal.com.

Angelino only completed a permanent move from City to PSV 12 months ago after impressing with Dutch side NAC Breda the season before.

City included a €12m buy-back clause in Angelino’s transfer and the Premier League champions are keen on his return as cover at left-back.

Benjamin Mendy has proved he cannot be counted on during his two years at the club after only managing 14 Premier League starts in that time.

Mendy’s off-field behaviour has caused particular problems for Pep Guardiola, though he does not plan to sign an out-and-out replacement in this window.

City cooled their interest in Ben Chilwell as a result of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s emergence last season but are now contemplating Angelino’s return.

Angelino has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer but if City re-sign the 22-year-old they plan on integrating him into their squad for next season.

Angelino played a direct hand in 10 Eredivisie goals from left-back last season, registering more assists than any other defender in the division (nine).

Furthermore, the Spain Under-21 international completed at least 15 more crosses (excluding corners) than any other player in the Eredivisie last term (51).
