Antonio Conte is becoming increasingly frustrated by Chelsea’s transfer dealings this summer and could walk away from the Premier League champions after one season, reports Sky Sport Italia, via Football Italia.
While some of their rivals have already strengthened, Chelsea have failed to add to their Premier League winning squad so far this summer and their inability to land some of Conte’s main targets is reportedly irritating the Italian.
Chelsea are reportedly calm and are confident Conte will not walk away from the club but claims from Italy suggest the situation is actually worse than they are letting off.
Inter were desperate to bring Conte back to Italy before eventually appointing Roma manager Luciano Spalletti as their new head coach and the fact his family are still living back in his homeland could even sway things against Chelsea further.
Conte still hasn’t agreed to a new deal that has been a priority of Chelsea since they wrapped up their second Premier League title in three years and this will certainly not help their cause either.
The 47-year-old wants Chelsea to re-sign Romelu Lukaku at all costs but the board are refusing to match Everton’s stunning €90m (£78.8m) valuation for Belgium international.
Conte has previous for this and even walked out on Juventus two days into pre-season training in 2014. The Italian only lost seven matches across all competitions during his first year at the club and led Chelsea to the FA Cup final after securing the league title.
