James Rodriguez has revealed an unnamed club has bid £71m for his services this summer but he doesn’t want to leave Real Madrid.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move away from Madrid this summer after dropping down the pecking order last season.
A number of Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in Rodriguez but the 25-year-old isn’t interested in leaving the European champions.
“I know the club received an £71m bid for me but I’m not leaving,” he told Marca, via The Daily Mirror. “I will fight to earn my place. That’s my dream. I will stay at Real Madrid, i will succeed here.”
Of players that have made at least five appearances in the last two La Liga campaigns Rodriguez required fewer minutes per key pass (every 27.8 mins). Furthermore, no player has scored more goals from outside the box in that time than Rodriguez (10).
